Why is there still a lost card insurance fee if the client has to pay for Lost/Stolen or Replacement Cards?
The fee is charged for the replacement of the lost/stolen card. The lost card insurance covers the client for any usage that comes through after the card is reported lost/stolen. If a card is lost/stolen under suspicious circumstances i.e. card stolen from the vehicle or driver absconds with card, then the client will only be covered under the lost card protection scheme, 72 hours after reporting the card lost/stolen. The reason for this is that it takes 72 hours for the card to be listed on the EDC machines.
